The Ohio Department of Aging strives to help our citizens live active, healthy and independent lives. We accomplish this by providing services, information and supports to help older Ohioans remain engaged in their communities as long as possible.

Healthy & Active Aging - One key to health as we age is to remain active, both physically and mentally. The aging network provides many opportunities to work, learn, play and volunteer.

Money Matters - Older Ohioans have a variety of benefits available to them, from discounts at stores to prescription drug coverage to help with utility bills.

Home & Community Supports - Most older people remain independent their entire lives, but others find themselves needing some help with activities we once took for granted, such as fixing meals and traveling to appointments. We may also find that our homes need some modification to meet our changing needs.

Caregiving - Family members and other informal caregivers truly are the backbone of the long-term care system in Ohio. They contribute more than one million hours of unpaid help to others, care valued in excess of $10 billion.

Long-term Services & Supports - For many Ohioans there comes a time when we need a level of care that we just can't provide for ourselves. Ohio offers many different options in a variety of settings, from care in the home to nursing facility care.

Help for People Receiving Long-term Care - Who is looking out for you or an elderly loved one to make sure you get the level of care you deserve and remain safe from abuse, neglect and exploitation? We are.
