News and articles from the Ohio Department of Aging.
The Ohio Department of Aging proudly announces the launch of a completely new website to help in our mission to strengthen and support Ohio’s elders and their communities. The site, located at aging.ohio.gov, introduces an entirely new look and feel, and makes it easier for visitors to find the information they are looking for with fewer clicks. The site is also optimized for use on mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones.
We invite all Ohioans to learn about the many things you can do to live a long, healthy and productive life in our new “Well Beyond 60!” section. Here, you’ll learn about our venerable Golden Buckeye program and find tips and resources to help you manage chronic conditions and avoid life-changing injuries through our STEADY U Ohio and HEALTHY U Ohio initiatives and health and wellness programs in your community. Other topics include resources for older workers and job seekers, lifelong learning and volunteer opportunities, nutrition and transportation, and resources to help you stay safe at home.
To learn more about services and supports available to help you or a loved one to remain in your home and community for as long as possible, even as your care needs change, check out our “Long-Term Supports” section. Here, you’ll find information about home and community-based services, such as our PASSPORT program, the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program, caregiver support programs, benefits help and more.
For older Ohioans or family members looking for services and supports, the “Find Services Where You Live” page offers “one-stop shopping.” Here, you’ll find contact information for many resources in your area, from the area agency on aging and regional long-term care ombudsman program, to senior employment programs, senior centers, wellness classes and more.
Resources for service providers, advocates and other professionals are now conveniently located in our “For Professionals” section. Catch up with the latest happenings on the “News & Updates” page. At the bottom of every page, you’ll find links to find services where you live, sign up for email updates and contact us.
Welcome to our new website. We invite you to look around at all we have to offer. If you have suggestions for our website, we’d love to hear them!
Tim, thank you for your feedback and for letting us know about the broken link. It has been corrected.
Thanks for the updates. This will be helpful for me in two ways....for myself, and as I care for my mother. My biggest concerns are for her, she's 93 and living in an independent senior facility with the next stop there to be assisted living.
Great changes and information. Thanks for your time and efforts.
The link to the provider rules only takes you back to the home page. Need to get the link connected to the actual rules pages. Otherwise, I think it looks much better than the old website - much simpler. Thanks!
